Hello! My name is Sarah and I am the creator of Slice Of Honey. I developed this space out of a passion for food but also a passion for community. My goal is to connect food to human experiences by sharing recipes and personal stories. I hope you find recipes you enjoy and share them with friends and family around your own table.
Food is more than just cooking and eating. It provides an opportunity to build relationships. I love gathering people together in my home for a meal and discussing life. Joys, sorrows or just learning more about each other. Home cooked food is how I show my love for others. My hope is that this blog will inspire you to grow your relationships through food.
I am a wife and a mom but I also work full time as an audiologist (hearing specialist). I need recipes that are easy and fast or recipes that can be prepped ahead of time. One of my earliest kitchen memories is of helping my grandmother peel vegetables. With her in mind, I include dishes from her old recipe box. However, most of the recipes are my own. The majority of my recipes here are vegetarian because a lot (but not all) of what I eat naturally falls into that category. Don’t get me wrong, I love salads but we all need more than a bowl of lettuce to get by.
I currently live in San Antonio, TX but I grew up in the Midwest and spent some time living in several other areas of the country. This has definitely influenced how and what I cook. If you look closely, I think you’ll notice the influences in my posts. I would love to hear from you so please feel free to leave comments on my posts or contact me directly.
Cheers! – Sarah
